How to Care for Your Metal Toppers

How to Care for Your Metal Toppers

Metal toppers are a stylish and durable way to upgrade your look, but like any accessory, they need a little TLC to keep them in top shape. With proper care, your metal toppers will stay vibrant and pristine for years to come. Here’s how to keep them looking their best!

1. Clean Gently and Regularly

Your toppers may come into contact with fingerprints, dust, oils or makeup throughout the day. To keep them clean:

  • Use the included soft microfiber cloth to wipe away smudges. If needed, dampen the cloth with warm water and mild soap (avoid harsh chemicals!).
  • Dry immediately with a clean, soft cloth to prevent water spots.

2. Store Them Safely

To avoid scratches or damage, proper storage is key:

  • Keep your toppers stored separately in the included protective sleeve when not in use
  • Avoid placing them in pockets or bags where they might bend or rub against hard objects like keys.

3. Handle with Care

While metal toppers are durable, they still require gentle handling:

  • When attaching or removing them from your frames, use a light touch to avoid bending. When removing, we recommend pulling them off from the bottom of the lenses upwards, rather than sliding them off.
  • Avoid dropping them on hard, rough surfaces to prevent scratches or dents.

4. Check the fit

Your toppers are hand-shaped before we package and ship them to you, and rely on precision-placed N52 magnets, each with 0.79 lbs of pull-force for a secure fit:

  • If your metal toppers don't seem to fit flush to your frames, you can use light pressure to bend them back into shape - be careful not to crease them!
  • Ensure they are aligned properly with your base frame for a snug, seamless fit.

Caring for your metal toppers is simple and helps them stay looking as good as new. With just a little attention, you can enjoy your stylish, custom designs for years to come. Ready to add more toppers to your collection? Check out our latest designs today!
